Have you ever felt completely helpless, yelling at the TV Screen, cheering for your favourite team, but not really being able to help them win?
Well we have changed that. In the Global Goals World Cup the teams are competing in 4 categories: Action for their Goal, Creative Style, Soccer skills and Engaging the Crowd. This is where you come in! Click on the profile of your favourite team and use the comment section to wish them good luck, give them ideas for what to do for their goal, or tell them why you are a fan of them or the cause they play for.
On Game Day, every statement of support counts towards the Crowd Point.
Why we do this
Imagine if sport was about more than being the strongest and fittest. If it was also about being the most sensational human beings for the World! -Well, at GGWCup we have changed the rules so scoring goals is only 1/4 of the victory. Being a champion for the UN Global Goals is just as important.
How it works: Each team is taking action for their chosen goal leading up to the event. Their actions determine the Action Score with which they will enter the tournament. WHY? Because the only way we will reach the goals by 2030, is if we all realise that the Global Goals are OUR goals, and we are the ones who can make them a reality.
