GGWCUP Norway 2022
Bærekraftsfestivalen hosted the first Global Goals World Cup in Kristiansand this June 2022.
The GGWCUP is a 5 aside football tournament for all-women teams. Each team chooses one of the Global Goals, and is ranked by the action taken for their Goal on and off the field.
The teams are scored in four distinct categories: Action, Crowd, Style and Football. Those awarded do not only win a tournament. They amplify their calls to action and create impact, locally and globally.

“We will develop business models with an equal focus on people, planet, and profit. Start businesses that focus on reuse and up-cycling of materials, exploiting surplus materials, and local production.”
“We play for SDG 13 Climate Action and want to make people aware that the digital world is actually physical and has a climate footprint.”
“Goal 14 is important to the team because the sea, beach and the archipelago is important for Southern Norway.”
“We are from 07 Media Sør and we love life by the sea. We are passionate about doing what we can to make sure that life below water will sustain during the current crisis.”
“Goal 5 is important because we want to encourage girls to start their own businesses, take leading positions in companies and believe that they are just as capable to be in these types of roles.”
"We play for Goal 6 because 1 billion people lack access of clean water. Clean water can help save lives, give people better living conditions, and can prevent children of missing out of school."
"We are a mix of youth players from different countries; Nepal, Tanzania, Uganda and Norway. We are all part og the Stromme Foundation exchange program Act Now. We are eager in the fight to eradicate poverty and believe youth are able to contribute."
“It's heart-breaking to see how unfair this “broken world” has become. We need to settle differences. We are eager to something about the Inequalities in the world. As young leaders our voices are important!”

Part of its objectives is to build and manage an impactful platform, using sports, entertainment, media, technology, events and other identified creative and effective tools, to drive the awareness and advancement of Global Goals.
