Team Origo play for Global Goal 5 - Gender Equality

We are a group of women working in a historically male dominated industry – technology.

Our company Origo has been a largely male dominated company which over the last few years is taking great strides in equality in new hires, 50/50 ratio in 2021.

We are inspired by our company's strong stance on the importance of women representation in our industry and want to encourage others in the same stance because equality does not happen without strong commitment.

Why Global Goal 5?

We believe that gender equality is an important piece in the puzzle of solving some of the biggest issues our world is facing.

Women historically have been, and still are not fully represented where some of the biggest decisions affecting their lives are being taken.

We would like to raise awareness of the work we still have to do to bring more equality into historically male dominated industries especially as there still exists a pay gap.

How will the Team take action for the Goal?

  • We will focus on equal pay between genders and are playing to raise awareness of the discrepancies in pay between the genders.

  • We believe innovation and technology can be the driving force for a better society for all. As a clear example of that we recently released a product, Justly Pay which is an equal pay certification solution.

  • We encourage Icelandic sports federations to start the process with Justly Pay and show in action their commitments to gender equality in sports in a transparent and simple way.

What is succes for the Team?

Success is equal pay for equal work.
