Team: Inspiring Inequalities
GGWCUP COPENHAGEN QUALIFIER
“The feeling of ‘you’re not alone’ is a powerful one.”
We couldn't have said it better than our first #GGWCup Europe coach Jackie Bachteler who is heading team Inspiring Inequalities. Their goal is to highlight women in soccer, whose careers are often cut short by societal and economic pressure. Jackie wants “to highlight inspiring women working everyday towards a goal and dream and together educate each other to reduce inequality at the highest of levels.”
Jackie is one of the EU Ambassador Coaches selected as part of our overall project GGWCup Europe. Learn more about the special ErasmusPlus project here and read more about Jackie here.
See you on the pitch in Copenhagen May 14!
How will the team take action for their Goal?
We will host seminars and trainings to help creating a support system, including “Modern Trends within Football Development with a focus on G10: Reduced Inequalities” and “Women in Soccer: Qualities of Successful Players and Coaches”
We will create a short video portraying the life of a “Women in Soccer” at the highest level.
We will journal about our seminars, trainings and panel.
The team will portray the life of Women in Soccer through our uniforms.
“We adjusted our first seminar to being a more of a discussion group. This ended up being extremely successful because of the intimacy that every women in soccer attended received. My team was able to give concrete solutions to each environment and it also triggered feelings of "I am not alone in this fight" and "There are ways to make my dream/environment better for myself and for the future." We saw that everyone had very similar challenges in different ways.
I have chosen to get involved with people that have the knowledge, experience, and passion for reducing inequality and developing the women's game in numerous ways for the future. I have chosen my team based on their passion to cause change and each one has something very unique to offer the football world, not only on a local scale but a global scale.”
