Team Dream Team will be playing for Goal 5: Gender Equality.

“I wish to share with other women my experience and passion. Everything you want can happen, you just have to fight for your dream," says Irina who has obtained all of the UEFA coaching licenses.

Let’s spread the love.

Irina is one of the EU Ambassador Coaches selected as part of our overall project GGWCup Europe. Learn more about the special ErasmusPlus project here and read more about Irina here and the team here.

Meet the Dream Team.

See you on the pitch in Copenhagen May 14!

A girl has the right to practice any sport she wishes, without shame or fear of the prejudices of those around! And the girls who play football are strong and ambitious, demonstrating that they can practice this sport as well.
— Suciu Florica.

How will the team take action for their Goal?

  • We will promote Goal 5 through #taketheball. “We start the #taketheball Romania series with current and former athletes, who support project Global Goals World Cup and team Dream Team in fight for gender equality! Suciu Florica is former player and captain of the team Independence Baia Mare. Florica promoted female football in the baia mare by her role modeling quality of player, coach and teacher of physical education.

  • We will also promote the project on TV interviews.

“Our team has organized actions for goal number 5. We have organized and created a community where we have spoken and promoted gender equality through football. One of the biggest problems in our country is that people do not accept football being practiced by girls, noting that it is a boys' sport. We have had TV appearances at the most popular Romanian TV stations: Pro TV, TVR 2, Digi 24, Anatena 1 and we had meetings with many important people who promoted the GGWCup project through #taketheball, we had promotions in parks where WE went out and talked to the people about the project and I played football with them, We played friendly games with well-known bloggers who in turn talked about the project.
