Lucy Mills, Katerina Salta, and Iris Vlachoutsicos will join Majken Gilmartin in this conversation on April 6, International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. This talk will reflect on the new times and how it is affecting girls and women across the globe, and what we can do to mitigate them.

About Lucie

Based in Barcelona, Spain, Lucy Mills is a program manager for the foundation of Futbol Club Barcelona. The Barça Foundation uses sport to promote social inclusion, access to education and the prevention of violence among at risk children and youth in 60 countries worldwide. Before joining Barça Foundation in 2018, Lucy worked in women´s football and football for development; six years in South Africa, three years in UK, and two years in Denmark. Lucy dedicates herself to local and international activist initiatives, such as the Global Goals World Cup, that unlock the transformative potential of the game for girls and women.

About Katerina

Katerina Salta is the Sport for Protection Program Manager of the International Olympic Truce Centre and co-Founder of Hestia FC, the first refugee and migrant women football team in the Balkans. She has studied Marketing and for the last 5 years she works in providing solidarity and support to refugee and migrant populations in Athens, Greece. She designs and manages sport for development programs for adults and children. Among others, she has collaborated with UNICEF, Barcelona Foundation, Youri Djorkaeff Foundation, UEFA, and UEFA Foundation for Children. She is a Global Goals World Cup Ambassador and a certified Trainer of Trainers of the European Program "Sport Welcomes Refugees". Hestia FC, playing for the SDG16- Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, is the European GGWCUP Champion 2019 and took the 3rd place at the GGWCUP Finals (NYC, October 2019).
