The runners up from GGWCup Prague, Team FK Lvice Černín, are ready to give it another shot at the NYC Finals. This team has come together from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministerstvo zahraničních věcí ČR). Before joining the GGWCup, this team did not know one another and had only their employer in common. Now, they’re connected by a common love for our planet.

The gentleman in the picture is the teams’ coach. An amazing football activist, who uses football as means to create a better world, organizes matches for integration of immigrants and is a great motivation for the team.

This team will be playing for Goal 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions to promote sustainable development, human rights protection and independent journalist.

This is how the Team will take action for their goal

In May 2019, we organized an awareness raising competition among visitors of the Czernin palace (MFA) open day, together with Prague ZOO.
This summer we are organizing a small informal foosball tournament for different actors promoting justice and strong institutions in the Czech Republic with the aim of creating synergies and promoting inclusive, responsible and just society.
The Ministry funds Transition program to support democracy and human rights, using the Czech Republic’s experience with the social transition and democratization of the country. Projects within this program are implemented in cooperation with Czech civil society organizations and their local partners, underpinning the importance of civil society in democratization processes. Its annual budget amounts to 2 mil EUR. Rule of law, a crucial component of the SDG 16, is a priority of the Czech Development Cooperation Strategy.
