GGWCUP Saudi Arabia 2022
Get ready for the second Global Goals World Cup in the Kingdom.
42 teams played the city tournament and 20 teams qualified to play at the Finals in Dammam October 21 and 22, 2022.
Each team is is ranked by the actions taken for the Goal on and off the field. Each team is scored in four categories: Action, Crowd, Style and Football.

Meet the football teams
“We believe that the role of universities and their students in the development of society is one of our social responsibility, and that holding partnerships would deepen our role in the development of society.”
The first women's football team in Al-Baha we chose goal 16 for peace and community justice.
"Oasis" team founded in 2019 we participated in the 2021 GGWCUP and won 2nd place. The team returns with its ambitions in pursuit of its goal of "good education" in the belief of the team members that the right of every human being is to get the best levels of education.
“The team relies on the establishment of female football players to keep up with the development of women's football.”
“We seek to participate in our first women's championship and represent the first women's team in Al-Jawf region. We seek to create parity and maintain social and economic equality between the sexes.”
“Each girl's dream is to have a team and start from scratch to build their way up to professionalism to ensure that everyone enjoys healthy lifestyles and well-being at all ages Good health begins with nutrition.”
“Yalla Lets Go! team consists of 8 women of different ages, backgrounds and have expertise in several fields. Because an individual's life is based on consumption and production on a daily basis, we have chosen goal #12 responsible consumption and production.”
“We are the Jazan United 2. The team was established this year 2022, specifically the beginning of March We chose the SDG 3. Through this goal we can enjoy good health and create a life of well being in football.”

“Our goal is life on land to support vision 2030 and to support the Kingdom in the Riyadh Green Project Hand in hand #green_life to eliminate desertification, restore degraded land and soils and seek to achieve nature, oxygen and a world free of the phenomenon of land degradation.”
“We chose goal 7 Clean energy at reasonable prices, our goal is to raise awareness on the various sources of clean energy that is durable and environmentally friendly like using solar panels, clean energy can be used not only in homes but also in schools and public transportation.”
SENS is the official women's football team of the Saudi Environment Association and was established in 2022 to participate in the Global Goals World Cup.
Introducing basketball
We are thrilled to announce the first ever edition of basketball within GGWCUP Saudi Arabia 2022. We hope to see your team on the field this fall.
Rules of the 3X3 Basketball Tournament:
5 players on the team, including 1 team captain or coach.
10 minutes is the full game.
12-second attack rule is counted
No fouls unless someone is making a very aggressive move. The referee can stop the game and give the ball to the other team.
If all the participating teams are good basketball players, we will bring all the rules back in the final stage of the game
The tournament design will be the same as football. Groups in the first stage. Then knock outs in the final stage.

“We are a group of healthcare workers in Riyadh who came together for the GGWCUP in Saudi Arabia. We will educating the community about the importance of donating blood."
“We are a competitive team based in Riyadh and part of titanium team 2014. We always believe in teamwork and we are looking to make our mark in every place!”
“The MVPs aims to witness reducing gender inequality and promote women rights. We will always stay upfront in during social activities & spreading awareness about our gender equality.”
“The goal of gender equality was chosen to keep pace with the developments that occur after the empowerment of women in our time.”
“The goal of life on land has been chosen to achieve the greatest amount of achievements under any circumstances, and to add it to the list of important goals that we always strive to achieve.”
"The Swish team was established in 2017 and seeks to develop sports and for Saudi clubs and the national team. 7 players from Swish joined the Saudi national team and 14 players for Saudi professional clubs (Al-Ahly, Al-Ittihad, Al-Wahda).”
“The team was established last year and we started this year. We wish to spread the culture of women’s basketball and develop the skills of those who wish to join basketball teams. We will work in partnerships with the private and public sector.”
“RWG strives to promote fitness as something beyond shape and size; something for everyone; of ALL ages, fitness levels and ethnicities; and that through exercise anything is possible, nurturing Saudi’s society towards “Good Health and Wellbeing.”
“We chose this goal (Partnerships for the goals) because through it we can achieve other sustainable development goals. The team will form new partnerships with entities that support the SDGS ex: no poverty, health and wellbeing.”

Global Goals World Cup (GGWCUP) is coming to Saudi Arabia for the first time in partnership with the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA). They are changemakers in their way of recognizing the value of sports for the SDGs and access to sports for women.
Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) is the mandated body by the Ministry of Sports to achieve the national objective under the Quality of Life Program to increase people who are physically active from 13% to 40% by 2030 as part of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision. SFA achieves this through sustainable programs that target all segments of society with all different abilities, ages and nationalities residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We are a sports team from Medina that spreads culture and sports awareness in the Saudi society. We have adopted the life and well-being, and our project is to work on providing free outdoor sports fields.”
