Beach keepers! Today we are talking to Team Spectacular8 who adopted Global Goal 14 and participated in the GGWCUP Dubai 2018.
United by their desire to leave a legacy of sustainable behaviour and a pollution-free planet for their children, 8 women took to cleaning the beaches of Dubai, as part of their action campaign for the GGWCUP in Dubai. By transforming the trash they found into a sculpture named Tilly the Turtle, Team Spectacular8 hopes to raise awareness of the adverse impact humans are having on marine life, and encourage people to adopt more sustainable consumption habits.
Since the team played in the GGWCUP in 2018, they have continuously collected trash and cigaret butts: Today they have stopped over 3 million cigarette butts from entering the oceans and helped with ethical responsible consumption and production via education #TeachSDGs.
