GGWCUP Talks – “Lo Sport Femminile NON Esiste”
Official Launch of GGWCup Milano 2026
The round table, part of the Cultural Olympiad of Milano Cortina 2026, serves as the opening ceremony for the first Italian edition of the Global Goals World Cup, the women’s five-a-side football tournament, created to promote actions around the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals).
The event, sponsored by the city of Milan, represents the first step of a long and ambitious journey which will mix sport, sustainability, and gender equality.
All these themes lie at the heart of the Global Goals World Cup project, which has been supported over the years by the United Nations Development Programme.
The goal of the tournament is to promote a sporting culture capable of generating positive and lasting social impact.
Why “Lo Sport Femminile NON Esiste”?
The provocative title of the round table (it means “Women’s Sport Does NOT Exist”) was chosen to encourage a genuine discussion about how sport can and must become a truly equal space, where gender does not define roles, opportunities or recognition.
Through the voices of institutional figures, journalists, athletes, managers, and professionals, this talk will offer reflections on the current state and future development of women’s sports in Italy.
Moderator and Guest Speakers
The round table will be moderated by Veronica Baldaccini, sports journalist at SkySport, who will lead the discussion with panellists from various areas of the sports and institutional worlds.
