The Global Goals World Cup: A new way of keeping the score

EIR is the non-profit organisation that runs the Global Goals World Cup (GGWCUP) and four other programs. Each program activates the groundbreaking potential of sports and play with purpose.

Our ultimate goal is to promote a more healthy and active lifestyle for women by bringing the GGWCUP to all the 193 countries that adopted the United Nations 17 Global Goals by 2030. When we reach 2030 we have succeeded in building a global community of UN SDG champions fuelled by women and amateur athletes driving change at the community level.

Getting behind the GGWCUP is a phenomenal opportunity to act faster than average and make sure to add the most needed energy in reaching the Global Goals and close the Global Play Gap.

Girls and women around the world do not have equal access to sport and physical activity. The reasons are many and they differ from one community to the next. It may be due to long held traditions, greater responsibilities in the home, safety concerns or a lack of positive role models.

The GGWCUP showcases the importance and benefits of sport and gender equality. Women who have never been allowed to or provided with the opportunity to play and get to enjoy physical activity. They get to share their joy. Women seize the moment of being in the spotlight to highlight a Global Goal, a cause close to their heart.

GGWCUP is often described as as an engine of social change.

What are global sponsors and what are local partners?

The global sponsors and partners fuel the engine of social change. Our global partners are industry-leading companies that support and inspire an active life at every age. Together, our goal is to continuously support, celebrate, and encourage women from all walks of life to make the changes they want to see in the world.

The global partners and sponsors work closely with the HQ team based in Copenhagen, Denmark and our office in Detroit, U.S.

Local partners are the organizing country hosts. They are the executive partners who directly to build a GGWCUP in a country. We support the individually country host of organizers with brand guidelines, design assets, documentation, local fundraising and every tools needed to set them up for success.
